Partnering with Leaders in the Field

FAIR Health works with a number of advisors who provide invaluable expertise and guidance on the development and evaluation of the FAIR Health database and consumer website. These include consumer advisors, academic researchers, policymakers, healthcare providers, employers, consultants, business leaders, state and federal officials, and payors.

FAIR Health partners with an academic research team, the Upstate Health Research Network (UHRN) that assists FAIR Health in the development and enhancement of the methodologies used in the FAIR Health database, and in the data that are offered on the FH Consumer Cost Lookup and in FAIR Health commercial data products. Based at Syracuse University, the Upstate Health Research Network (UHRN) includes researchers from Cornell University, the University of Rochester, the University at Albany (State University of New York - SUNY), the University at Buffalo (SUNY), and SUNY Upstate Medical University. The University of Illinois, Indiana University, the University of Colorado (Denver) and Arizona State University participate in UHRN as adjunct research institutions. The UHRN researchers have backgrounds in various fields, including healthcare policy, medicine, economics, and statistics.

The work of the UHRN is reviewed and supplemented by an independent Scientific Advisory Board comprised of leading researchers in fields such as behavioral and market economics, cognitive psychology, and insurance plan design. Additional SAB activities include developing data use and access policies for the FAIR Health Research Program, and the design and strategic deployment of FAIR Health consumer survey instruments.
